WHAT ARE THE ST GEORGE IN BLOOM JUDGES LOOKING FOR WHEN THEY VIEW AND JUDGE ALL THE
ENTRIES IN THE COMPETITION? - SEE THE GUIDANCE BELOW.
Our awards are allocated as follows:-
OUTSTANDING -This is the highest level of award our St George in Bloom judges allocate,
and is equivalent to a ‘Gold’ standard.
HIGHLY COMMENDED -This is the next level from Outstanding and although a high standard
was evident, when the judges looked at the display this award acknowledges that improvements
could have be made. Perhaps some of the plants needed some extra care & attention,
or the judges spotted weeds or diseased or insect infestation on the plants . Don’t
forget the judges also look at the entire setting in which the plants are displayed.
If there are also untidy areas surrounding the display, or evidence of weeds, the
judges will deduct points.
CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION- This award acknowledges the effort that has been made,
but improvements could have been made to the choice and health and overall care of
the plants.See also the guidance above.
CHAIRS AWARD- This is a discretionary award that is made by the Chair
of St George in Bloom to acknowledge excellence, and is the equivalent of a Gold
PLEASE NOTE:- THE JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL, AND NO CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE ENTERED
INTO REGARDING THE INDIVIDUAL ENTRIES.
